Operate Rooms is an iPad app which can be used to display if a meeting room is currently booked or free, as well as show when the room is booked for
Download & Log In
You can find the app in the following stores, or by searching ‘Operate Rooms’ in the app store.
If the app is not listed in your current geography please contact essensys customer success team to request it.
Once downloaded, log in using an Operate username and password which has access to the calendar feature. You can then select the site and room that you want to display. To change the room you want to view, simply kill the app and start it again.
Using Operate Rooms
Operate Rooms will show the following:
The duration that a meeting is booked or free for
Who has the meeting room booked
Other bookings in place for the day, by tapping the slide out arrow
Further details of the meeting, by tapping the meeting itself
The navigation bar on the left shows the current time at the top, as well as the next few hours in the day down the side. You can use the arrow in the centre of the navigation bar to slide the bar out and see more detail on who has the room booked. Tapping on any meeting will display the information full screen.
Tip: We recommend putting your iPad in guided access mode when situated outside or inside a meeting room. This stops users accidentally closing the app. More detail can be found here.
Exiting the app & logging in with another user
To exit the app, please kill the app in the standard way you would other ipad apps. To log in with a different user navigate to ipad settings > Operate Rooms and clear the username and password saved there.
Technical info
Operate Rooms is an iPad app which is optimized for the iPad mini with retina display, though can be used on all sizes of iPads. It requires iOS 9.3 or above to run.
The app syncs with Operate every 2 minutes.
