The MAC Address Finder tool in Connect identifies exactly where a device is plugged into your network.

A MAC address (media access control address) is a unique set of alpha-numeric digits used to identify a device within a network. Every device has one. It can be found printed on the device (e.g. for a phone, it may be on a label on the back) or in user settings.

In  Connect, click on the Switches page in the main navigation and type the device’s MAC code into the MAC finder located in the top right-hand corner of the page (pictured below). Click ‘Search MAC Address’. This will tell you the specific switch and port that the device is plugged into.

There may be more than one switch in your centre, so take a note of both the switch name and port number (pictured below) before navigating away from the page.
