What is a Main Number
A Main Number is a telephone number that essensys will pre-configure with specific phone settings to allow a Client to use this number as the primary inbound telephone number for their business. The Telephone Manager section of Connect then hosts a Main Number Setup page where you and your Clients are able to quickly and easily direct inbound calls to their desired location to understand this further and how to change a Main Number please see this guide here.
Removing the Main Number setting
If you are trying to Remove a Main Number which is already Active within Connect as a first step we need to make the Number Reserved, to do this if we select the Number within Telephone Manager and then press Edit.
Once in Edit we now need to change the Enabled section to OFF
Once set now click Save, Connect will now turn the number from Active to Reserved,
Now this has been completed we will head to the Next Step.
Now the number has been made reserved we can go and head into Number Manager once in Number Manger if we lookup the Number we are going to Edit
If you now click on the tick box to make the number selected and then click Edit.
We can now change the Main Number option from ON to OFF and then click Save,
Connect will now remove the Main Number Setup and you can use this number as a normal Extension Number, you can now login this number to a handset please see this guide here to complete this step.
