How to test I have set up My SSID correctly

How to Test SSID configuration via essensys platform
This guide explains how to test that everything has been configured correctly on your Meraki Dashboard when building the essensys SSID.

Prerequisites
Before you start, ensure you have:

  • Admin access to your essensys platform.

  • Network set up as per our previous process.

  • You will need to be on site, or be communicating with a test person on site with whom you can share the login details.

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Log In to your essensys platform account

  1. Navigate to your essensys platform account

  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.

Step 2: Add a User

  1. From the main dashboard, click on “Account” in the left hand navigation bar.

  2. Ensure you are on "staff members" tab.

  3. Select the "Add a user" link

  4. Enter your details or test details, note you will need to use an email address which you have access to.

  5. Ensure the "WiFi access" is toggled on.

  6. Click next, select the sites the test user will be managing

  7. Add user

Step 3: Access email

  1. The email address above will receive an email with the login credentials to the new "Wi-Fi Secure" SSID you have configured.

  2. Copy or have the password to hand for the next step.

Step 4: Log into WiFi test

  1. On your test device navigate to the WiFi console to scan for available networks.

  2. Locate & select the network you have configured in the previous step

  3. There should be a prompt for a username and password.

  4. The Username will be your submitted email address, the password was contained in the email.

  5. Enter these credentials & connect. Your device should connect instantly for a successful test.

  6. If you are unable to connect, please try again ensuring there are no mistakes in the credentials. If issues persist, please contact the support team via live chat.

Step 5: Check your Intelligence Engine data

If you have successfully passed Step 4, you will need to ensure the WiFi data is streaming to your platform account.

  1. Navigate to Operations in the left hand navigation. Make sure you are in the reports tab & select the report called 'WiFi Secure'.

  2. You should have 1 online user.
