Basic details
Field | Description |
Door name | The name of the door. Tip: This name is searchable in the list view, so you should make sure it is clear which door it refers to. |
MAC ID | The MAC address uniquely identifies the door controller. As there can be multiple card readers for a door controller, a suffix is added to the MAC address to uniquely identify each card reader (MAC ID). Example: elevator readers exist on each floor, but access to the elevator is configured using the main reader on the ground floor or at street level. The MAC ID of the main reader is suffixed -0, while the other card readers are suffixed with a non-zero value. |
NFC ID | Identifies the Near-field communication (NFC) device / card reader. This is used with your white labeled essensys app, where applicable. |
QR ID | Identifies the QR code associated with this card reader. This is used with your white labeled essensys app, where applicable. |
Enable card reader | Enables and disables the card reader. Disabling the reader stops you from locking or unlocking the door using the card reader. For example, if your door is locked when you disable the card reader, that will leave it locked and prevent the card reader being used to unlock the door. Note: Sometimes his option is disabled (grayed out) and cannot be selected. This is the case where changing this setting has no real-world effect on door access. For example, only the main reader is used to manage control of elevator doors, so only the main reader can be disabled or enabled using this toggle. You can tell which of the elevator card readers is on the main floor because its MAC ID is suffixed -0. |
Permanently Open | Indicates that the door is permanently open. Users do not need device access to open this door. Notes: If the door is permanently open:
|
Held alarm | Enables an alarm to be triggered if the door is held open for an extended period of time. This alarm sounds at the door itself. |
Forced alarm | Enables an alarm to be triggered if the door is forced open. This alarm sounds at the door itself. |
Edit schedule
The door schedule indicates the times when your door is unlocked because, say, your receptionist is present at the door and manning it.

When the door is locked, the user needs to use their access to device to open it.
Field | Description |
Copy site schedule | Sets the scheduled times for the doors to match the opening times for the site. Note: This option copies the opening time schedule. This schedule can then be edited without impacting the opening times. Note: Updating the opening times of the site will not automatically update door schedules. |
Daily schedule:
| These fields indicate:
Example: The user can unlock the reader every Monday between 09:00AM and 6:00PM. This means that the door is not locked on Mondays between these times, and users do not need to tap their access device to open the door. |
