Where the main number's call settings include the call forwarding in space option, incoming calls are simultaneously redirected to all extensions in the in space hunt group. Use the in space hunt group dialog box to specify which phone numbers should be part of this hunt group.

Important: By default, the hunt group includes all of the active phone numbers that share their occupier or account with the main number. Whenever you activate or deactivate one of these phone numbers, they are added to or removed from the hunt group.

Accessing the main number details

Access the main number details for either the operator or an occupier:

  • To access the telephony details for the operator:

    • Click Account in the main menu.

    • Select the Telephony tab.

    • Select the <site>.

  • To access the telephony details for an occupier:

    • Click Occupiers in the main menu.

    • Select the <occupier>.

    • Select the Telephony tab.

    • Select the <site>.

The MAIN NUMBER row shows the main number for the selected organization.

Before you begin

  • Your main number must be in the ACTIVE state. See Activate your main number.

  • Your main number call settings, which describe how incoming calls are handled, should include an in space option. If it does not, you can still edit the hunt group but the change will have no effect.

Managing your in space hunt group

  1. Check that your main number is in the ACTIVE state.

  2. When hovering your cursor over the main number, click Hunt group.

The In space hunt group dialog box opens.

  3. To add an ACTIVE number to the hunt group:

    1. Optionally, search the list of numbers.

    2. Click the arrow to the right of the number you want to select.
The number is added to the Selected extensions list.

  4. To remove a phone number from the hunt group, click X to remove the number.
The number is removed from the Selected extensions list.

  5. Once your changes are complete, click Save.

If your call settings send incoming calls to this hunt group (if in space is selected as one of the call forwarding options on main number), incoming calls are now redirected to the newly defined set of extensions.

The basic details of the main number.

Available extensions:

  • Extension name (Main number, <Label>, or blank)

  • Extension

  • Select extension

The list of available extensions includes all extensions that are:

  • Not currently members of this hunt group.

  • In the Active state.

  • Allocated to the same occupier or account as the main number.

Note: An extension name is only displayed where the extension is for a main number or the phone number/handset has been assigned a label. See Name a handset.

Click the arrow alongside the extension to select that extension and add it to the hunt group.

Selected extensions:

  • Extension name (Main number, <Label>, or blank)

  • Extension

  • Remove extension

These are the selected extensions. Each of these extensions rings when an incoming call to the main number is forwarded to an in space hunt group.

  • Click X (remove) to remove an extension from the hunt group.

You cannot remove the last extension from the hunt group.

Note: By default, this list includes all phone numbers that are both active and allocated to the same account or occupier as the main number.

Whenever you activate a phone number, it is added to the in space hunt group for the main number automatically. Whenever you deactivate a phone number, it is removed from the group.
