Understanding elumo Ring Animations
The elumo reader uses a ring animation around the edge to show what’s happening at a door or bookable space.
You can think of the ring like the face of a clock, where different colours and shapes indicate the current status.
How the “clock‑style” animation works
The animation around the reader works a bit like the hand of a clock moving around the face. Instead of showing hours, the ring shows the progress of time for a booking or meeting.
When a meeting or booking starts, the ring shows a larger orange arc.
As time passes, the orange part of the ring shrinks, moving anti‑clockwise in real time.
By simply looking at the size of the remaining arc, you can see how much time is left before the current booking ends.
For example:
If a room is booked for 30 minutes, the ring will start as a half‑circle, and over the next 30 minutes the orange area will reduce until the ring returns to its neutral state (white).
This visual approach allows you to understand room or door status instantly, without needing to open an app or read any text.

Animation | Meaning | What is means for the user |
| Permanently Open | The door or access point is unlocked and set to remain open. |
| Installer Mode | The reader is in setup/diagnostic mode used by installers or engineers. Normal access may not function. |
| Permanently Locked / Out of hours | The door is locked and only users with permanent access permissions may enter. |
| Bookable Space — Available | This space is bookable and currently available. |
| Bookable Space — Booked | The space is currently booked for the next hour. Only users with an active booking can enter. |
| Bookable Space — Available for the Next 30 Minutes | The space is free now but will become unavailable soon. |
| Bookable Space — In Use for the Next 30 Minutes | A meeting is currently taking place and the space remains occupied for another 30 minutes. |
| Tap to Book — Success (On‑Demand Meeting Booked for 15 Minutes) | Your tap created an instant 15‑minute booking, and the space is now reserved for you. The animation shows: initial state → confirmation → active booking. |
