You may be wanting to increase the allocation as the bandwidth is being maxed out, causing slow speeds for individuals or across the site. To understand where to see bandwidth usage in Platform, you can use this guide.
This article will go through the steps you need to take if you want to increase or decrease the bandwidth allocation for an Occupier or for your Operator account. You will still need to decide which pipe will be required, for information on the pipes available, please see here.
Please also keep in mind that if a pipe is being maxed out or the overall site bandwidth, you will need to speak to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) about your options on getting this increased. If you are unsure who your CSM is, please email successuk@essensys.tech to contact the team.
Manage services: Occupier or Operator
Occupier
In Platform, select Occupiers from the left-hand menu.
Search for and select the Occupier or Guest Wi-Fi needed.
Click the Services tab and then select Manage Services.
From here either increase the product quantity or change pipe as required/discussed with the Occupier.
Operator/Site
In Platform, select Account from the left-hand menu.
Search for and select the Site.
Click the Services tab and then select Manage Services.
From here either increase the product quantity or change pipe as required/discussed with the Occupier.
Remember, we do have a guide to understand the different pipe options available and what they need: About bandwidth pipes.
Monitor/Check bandwidth allocation
This would also be how you can check the upload and/or download speeds that can be reached for an Occupier, your Guest Wi-Fi or Management Client/Operator.
Follow the steps above to navigate to the Service tab and see what is allocated (if it is not stated in the description of the Service what speeds are provided, you may need to check how the Service is set up for your site).
Alternatively, head to Operations > Reports > Bandwidth usage report > filter the report to the Occupier, Guest Wi-Fi or Management Client and a red dotted line can show you the maximum possible speeds:
