Once a main number has been activated, you can view a read-only summary of its settings and details.
The details shown include:
Basic details - The main number's phone number, extension number, and current state.
Controls - The buttons, exposed by hovering your cursor over the basic details, that you can use to update the details of the main number.
Summary details - The call settings for the main number, including voicemail, call forwarding, hunt group, and so on.
Note: There is a maximum of one main number for each operator or occupier.

Before you begin
The main number must be in the ACTIVE state. See Activate the main number.
Accessing the Phone number details
Access the phone number details for either the operator or an occupier:
To access the telephony details for the operator:
Click Account in the main menu.
Select the Telephony tab.
Select the <site>.
To access the telephony details for an occupier:
Click Occupiers in the main menu.
Select the <occupier>.
Select the Telephony tab.
Select the <site>.
The MAIN NUMBER row on this page shows the details of the main number for the selected organization.
Read-only details
To view the main number details in a read-only view:
Click the expand arrow to the side of Main number.
Hover your cursor over the fields to enable any buttons.
Main number summary details
Basic details (read-only)
Fields | Description |
Number status | The current status of the main number. For more information, see: Reference: Phone Number Status. |
Phone number | The number that is allocated as the main number for this operator or occupier. Note: This is typically the number for reception at the organization. |
EXT | The internal extension for the main number. |
Controls
Fields | Description |
Hunt Group | Manage extensions in the in space hunt group. For more information, see In space hunt group. |
Greetings | Manage the information displayed to the receptionist where Main reception is in use. For more information, see Greetings. |
Call settings | Manage how incoming calls to the main number should be handled, either inside or outside of business hours. For more information, see Call settings. |
Reset PIN | Reset the PIN back to the Default PIN value. For more information, see Reset PIN. |
| Depending on its current activation status, activate or deactivate the main number. For more information, see Activate the main number. |
Summary details (read-only)
Fields | Description |
Default PIN | This PIN is used to access the voicemail mail box and sign in to the voice portal for the main number in the first instance. This value is replaced with a custom value on first use, but the replacement value is never displayed in the essensys Platform. Tip: Reset the PIN to discard the custom PIN and return to this default value. For more information, see Reset PIN. |
Call settings:
| The current call settings for the main number. To edit these details, see Call settings. |
Greetings:
| The current greeting and comment that is displayed to main reception where a call handling service is handling incoming calls. To edit these details, see Greetings. |
In space hunt group | A comma-separated list of the extensions that are currently included in the in space hunt group. To edit these extensions, see In space hunt group. |
